Writing is a solitary process. So is battling cancer. Fortunately, in both of these endeavors I was surrounded by loving animals and supportive people. Now with the publication of both a Hardcover and E-book format for the book, I want to give something back to animals. I am pleased to announce the 2012 Animal Charity Grant supporting an animal non-profit (or group of them) anywhere in the 50 United States. For more details click

I hope you enjoy this short video about the book.
For those of you interested in veterinary medicine, this book provides an idea of what it is like to be a veterinarian - the good, the bad and the hilarious. You will learn how dangerous the job can be when working with vicious animals, how tiring the job is after an all night emergency and how rewarding it is when a critical animal survives its injures.
Coated With Fur: A Vet's Life is a great gift for those who want to be veterinarians.
And yes, Bongo is one of the stars of the book!
